Billboard’s journalists Jeff Benjamin and Jessica Oak published an article titled “G-Dragon Opens Up at World Tour Kickoff” to discuss about G-Dragon’s independent concert “2013 G-DRAGON WORLD TOUR: ONE OF A KIND” that was held in Seoul on March 30 and 31.
The authors of the writer compared G-Dragon to Michael Jackson, referring to G-Dragon’s concert as “the vibrant, two-hour, Michael Jackson-level affair.” They also included vivid descriptions of the stages. For example, the authors recall from the concert, “With eye-popping props, numerous outfit changes, multiple LED screens flashing video visuals, and dazzling laser lights, the highly-energetic performer moved through a remixed version of his monster solo debut single ‘Heartbreaker‘ and knocking track ‘One Of a Kind,’”
The article also included words of Travis Payne and Stacy Walker, who are in charge of “2013 G-DRAGON WORLD TOUR: ONE OF A KIND.” Previously, Stacy Walker worked extensively on Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour and Travis Payne was the associate producer of the movie accompanying movie. The producers of G-Dragon’s world tour praised him, “GD has elements of both MJ and Lady Gaga.”
“2013 G-DRAGON WORLD TOUR: ONE OF A KIND” will be visiting 13 cities in 8 countries. After his Seoul concerts, G-Dragon performed in Fukuoka, Japan on April 6.
